  OK, so here's where I am with distance Reiki. I was taught to set the intention for Reiki to flow for a certain period of time, given that either I have permission of the recipient or I claim the disclaimer 'for the highest good, if their higher self accepts....'  I'm typically backward in my processes and like to customize any 'procedures' to my own personal way of doing things, so this is where I am currently: I've decided to set the intention for Reiki to flow to a person or situation for as long as they need it and as often as they need it. Setting a specific time period seems so limiting. I feel that people will benefit more from Reiki if the energy flows to them in a way that is specific to them. One person might need an hour long session once a day, another person could benefit from having the energy flow for 15 minutes each hour. (I have more than a little social anxiety.) The next month, I still wanted to go, but I had to work. The month after that, I didn't see a meeting scheduled, and this month's meeting is tomorrow. I finally signed up to go today, at ALMOST the last minute (an improvement in the way of my normal procrastination). I was still a little weary of going, although I crave conversation with like-minded people. Today's card gave me confirmation that I need to go tomorrow. And another thing, you can apply this (#35) to our attitudes towards others. I was just sitting here thinking about one particular person who really gets under my skin, grinds my gears, and pushes every last button I have. This person drives me absolutely NUTS with his ignorance, lack of caring, and refusal to understand anything! I've wasted so much of my energy hating on him. This is very draining for me. I have labeled him as the culprit, the energy vampire, but I am the one who is allowing it to flow as such. I must remember that he is an extension of me. We are all extensions of each other. Meditation, the real, actual, clearing your mind of any and all thoughts kind of meditation is HARD!! I've done plenty of these guided 'meditations' on YouTube (guided visualizations might be a more accurate way of describing them), asking you to visualize walking through a meadow to a magical place or visualizing white light entering your body to clear out all the lower vibrating energies. These are very helpful and have worked for me for years. They really help to calm me and relax me and put me in a better mindset, but I've never really tried to do 'real' meditation. Like the Buddhists do, where they sit there and clear their minds of everything and just be. I attempted to meditate last night. It ended up being more like a push-thoughts-out-of-my-mind over and over again session. There was a millisecond here or a half a second there when I actually accomplished having zero thoughts. As someone whose mind normally runs at least 50 different thought process...

This morning, I saged each card from my Angel Tarot deck individually to cleanse the energy . I began to shuffle with the intention of picking a card for the readers of the blog, and this card fell out with the first shuffle. I normally take a picture of the card with my phone, meditate on its meaning, and make a short prayer of thanks out of the meaning. When I take a picture  with my phone, it automatically assigns the image a number in this format: IMG_2016091304_523. The first set of numbers is the date/time the picture was taken, but I've found no rhyme or reason for the last three digits. I'm more than a little obsessed with numbers , so I decided to look up the meaning of the extension on today's photo, which was 523. This morning, I woke up feeling very sad and lonely , as the first and only words uttered to me as I opened my eyes were "we need sugar." I've had a problem for a long time now. I wake up with negative thoughts running through my head. Everything that anybody ever said/did to me, everything I ever said/did to anybody, my self-hate talk, it all plays like a movie on repeat over and over and over again when I first wake up. I have recently become very aware of this, and I'm doing things to help, such as replacing every negative thought with remembering three things that I'm grateful for, giving myself a Reiki treatment when the 'movie' gets scary, and using positive affirmations. This morning was extra bad, for some reason. Maybe it has more than a little to do with the state of my hormones. I sat and cried for two hours about how sad my life was. When I was done, I felt I needed to release everything that I cried about, to let go of everything that br...

Why do I have to protect my energy? Is feeling other peoples’ emotions supposed to be a gift? If feeling others’ emotions is my “gift”, then why am I being told to block it all the time? After doing each reading, I put the cards back in the deck and shuffle again, with the intention that I will see the card on the bottom of the deck (which is the card facing up when I turn the deck over). This message is for me, personally. This card was on the bottom of the deck when I turned it over, and when I shuffled, this card came out of the deck, so it is truly the message of the day for everyone reading this blog, including me.
